Children’s Card Game Printable, History the Fun Way

The Name-It Game teaches American history the fun way!
Just print and cut into squares to play this Spot-It style game.
Red, white and blue from coast to coast.
Sparklers, fireworks and gunshots.
Parades, ceremonies and parties.
Back in 1776, the famous men who wrote, signed and ratified the Declaration of Independence wanted great celebrations to commemorate the great thing that had just happened.
John Adams, one of the signers of the document, wrote to his wife Abigail that July 2 “will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival” and that the celebration should include “Pomp and Parade…Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other.”
Turns out July 2 became July 4th, but America celebrates just the way John Adams and the rest predicted.
Well, sort of. Some of the fanfare may have calmed down.
How do you celebrate July 4th?
To help you out with indoor time, we are giving this Children’s Card Game Printable for free download this week!

Cut out the squares.
Separate the squares with photos from the squares with words.
To play the game Spot-It style, just use the photo cards.
Note: If you go over the word squares first, everyone will know what to name the photos. Then when you find the same photo on 3 cards, you can yell the right name for the photo. If you see the horse and rider with a tri-corn hat, you call out “Paul Revere’s ride.” If you’ve collected 3 cards with the 2 crossed flags with different hats, you’ll call out “American Revolution.”
So you see how this is a history lesson and a fun game all in one!
And believe it, this is an exciting game for anyone over the age of 3 to play. It is truly amazing.
Enjoy playing the exciting
children’s printable card game
this July 4 with the whole family!
Until next time,
Love, Kim & Dorothy
