We’re total fans of dipping sauces. Remember when ranch was the only sauce everyone used on everything?
Well, those days are officially over. Give them one taste of this shortcut basil aioli dipping sauce on their burger and they’ll never go back.
Here’s the dipping sauce recipe of your dreams:
Shortcut Basil Aioli Dipping Sauce
Ingredients
- ¾ cup mayonnaise
- ⅓ cup finely chopped fresh basil leaves
- 1 tsp seasoning salt
- ½ tsp pepper, freshly ground
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1½ tsp minced fresh garlic cloves
Instructions
- Place all ingredients into blender. Blend until it begins to turn slightly green.
- Place in a covered jar in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to allow the flavors to diffuse.
Notes:
- This sauce will keep in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- Using all fresh ingredients makes a huge difference on the flavors.
- You can switch out the basil with cilantro, parsley or chives for equal deliciousness.
- Use on burgers of all kinds: hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, or fish sandwiches.
- Great as a dipping sauce for sweet potato fries, deep fried cauliflower or zucchini, and more.
- Don’t skip making this awesome sauce if you don’t have the fresh garlic. You can order heritage garlic from our son’s little farm by the river, direct to your door. Wild Root Farm has the best in season. (Shameless plug for the best organically grown garlic!)
- If you need more punch, add lemon zest together with the lemon juice. Some also like Dijon mustard added. It all depends on how much flavor your taste buds require!
