God’s Creation Day 7: Children’s Bible Lesson Printable
God’s Creation Story Day 7:
God called all that He created good, and on…
Day 7, Day 7, God rested in His Heaven!
Children’s Bible Lesson Printable with crafts included.
And now God is finished creating the world.
How many days did it take?
That’s right, God created the whole world, the sun, moon and stars,
the plants and animals, birds and fish,
and man
all in just 6 days.
Six days is like from Monday to Saturday; the five days of school, and the day off before Sunday.
Do you think all that work made God tired?
Would it make you tired, if you could create such great things?
God might have been tired, but probably not.
But He knew that man would be tired after 6 days of work,
so He rested on the 7th day to give us an example of how life should happen.
God created for 6 days, and then He rested.
Today our day of rest is Sunday. The day we go to church, not to work.

God Rested in His Heaven
“
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished,
and all the host of them.
And on the seventh day
God ended his work which he had made;
and he rested on the seventh day
from all his work which he had made.
And God blessed the seventh day,
and sanctified it:
because that in it he had rested
from all his work
which God created and made.
”
God’s Creation Day 7:
On Day 7 God looked around at all He had made.
On the first day He created Light, and He called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night.
On the second day of Creation God divided the waters. There was water below, and water above, and between the waters He put sky.
On Day 3 God moved the waters below into oceans, lakes and rivers by creating land. And then everywhere on land He made plants to grow.
On Day 4 God created lights to divide night and day. He created the bright sun for the day, and moon and stars to light up the night.
Day Five God made all the creatures of the water and of the air.
Day Six He created animals, and His greatest creation of all, Man!
God was happy with the things He created.
Now it was Day 7 and God rested.
God rested on the 7th Day.
God didn’t rest because He was tired.
He wasn’t tired because God doesn’t get tired.
God rested after His six days of creating because He was teaching us something.
God called the day Holy, a day to set apart as different from the other six days of the week.
He wants us to call the seventh day of every week the Sabbath.
And Sabbath for Christians means going to Church to worship and praise God,
and set the whole day apart from doing the things we do the other six days.
God knew that man would need physical rest from work,
and also renew our minds and refill our hearts with His love by being quiet and worshipping Him on Sunday.
Renewing our minds will help us to rest completely, from the inside out.
God didn’t sleep all day.
The Bible says God rested on the seventh day, but that doesn’t mean the same thing as sleeping and napping all day.
Resting means a break from the usual routine, a break from the work He did the six days before the seventh.
Resting means being quiet and calm in our minds.
It means thinking about the things of God, and filling our hearts with good thoughts.
Reading the Bible and studying God’s Words help us think good thoughts.
But you won’t do that all day on Sunday.
You’ll do usual things like eating and playing.
But one thing you won’t do is go to work if you have a job (unless you are a caregiver like a nurse or doctor.)
Then when you go to bed, you’ll sleep quietly and wake up Monday morning
ready to go to work or school again.
