God Created Animals and Man
“
And God said, Let the earth bring forth
the living creature after his kind,
cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth
after his kind: and it was so.
And God made the beast of the earth after his kind,
cattle after their kind,
and every thing that creepeth upon the earth
after his kind:
and God saw that it was good.
And God said, Let us make man in our image,
after our likeness: and let them have dominion
over the fish of the sea,
and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle,
over all the earth,
and over every creeping thing
that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God created he him;
male and female created he them.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them,
Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth,
and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea,
over the fowl of the air,
over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed,
which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree,
in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed;
to you it shall be for meat.
And to every beast of the earth,
and to every fowl of the air,
and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth,
wherein there is life,
I have given every green herb for meat:
and it was so.
God saw every thing that he had made,
and, behold, it was very good.
And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
”
God’s Creation Day 6:
On Day 6 God looked around at all He had made.
On the first day He created Light, and He called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night.
On the second day of Creation God divided the waters. There was water below, and water above, and between the waters He put sky.
On Day 3 God moved the waters below into oceans, lakes and rivers by creating land. And then everywhere on land He made plants to grow.
On Day 4 God created lights to divide night and day. He created the bright sun for the day, and moon and stars to light up the night.
Day Five God made all the creatures of the water and of the air.
God was happy with the things He created.
Now it was Day 6 and God was ready to create all the creatures that roam the land, and then He created man.
God created all the animals that live on earth.
He created large wild animals like giraffes, elephants and tigers. God created smaller wild animals like rabbits, mice and gophers. He also created creeping reptiles like frogs, lizards and snakes.
Can you think of more kinds of animals? Maybe bears? Turtles? Crocodiles?
Then besides the wild animals, God created farm animals, the animals that are important to man. Man needs animals for food, and needs them to be calmer than the wild animals, so they can be kept in fences and barns. God created horses, cows and sheep. He made dogs, cats and gerbils.
There are so many kinds of animals we could not name them all here.
Which is your favorite animal? Is it your pet? It’s so wonderful that God thought to create animals that children could love as pets.
Then God created man.
He asked the man to name the animals. That must have been a big job for one man. Do you think God gave him some ideas? Would you have been able to come up with so many names? Or, perhaps you would have given some animals different names, and then today a horse might have a different name. Think of some names for animals that you think would sound better than what Adam named them.
As Adam was naming the animals he must have noticed that every kind of animal had a partner. There was a male and female of every animal God created.
Did Adam ask God why he was alone? We don’t know, but God decided man needed a partner. So he put Adam into a deep sleep and took a rib from Adam’s side and created a woman. He named the woman Eve. Now Adam and Eve could be together forever and never be lonely.
