And God said,
Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters,
and let it divide the waters from the waters.
God made the firmament,
and divided the waters which were under the firmament
from the waters which were above the firmament:
and it was so.
God called the firmament Heaven.
And the evening and the morning were the second day.

On Day 1 of Creation
God created light. Before there was light, the universe looked like this:
Then God created light.
And that was the First Day ever.
The light looked like this:
On the second day of Creation,
God created the Firmament, which is the sky.
He did this by dividing the waters, calling the space between the water below and the water above sky.
