Botanicals Frame Card DIY: Cricut-cut Framed Card-Front
Botanicals Frame Card DIY:
Make a Cricut-cut Framed Card-front to add Fall florals to greeting cards.
Use grasses and leaves foraged from your own backyard.
I’m totally pumped that dried florals are “in” again.
I kept my 80s dried bouquets around a lot longer than everyone else did, simply because I loved them.
Of course, my house tends to have a vintage vibe anyway.
Maybe because I love the style,
or it may be that when we first furnished our home we used lots of garage sale finds. And items given to my husband by his clients who were eager to help a poor young couple get started. Some of those hand-me-downs are heirlooms now. Like the old radio cabinet in one of our guest rooms.

Supplies:
- Cardstock
- Clear 8 mil cover sheet to protect florals
- Cricut machine to cut oval frame box for card front
- Glue, scissors, ruler, etc.
Instructions:
- Gather the dried florals you wish to use. Spray with hairspray to prevent shedding. Let dry.
- Open Cricut Design Space and create a 4.25″ x 5.5″ rectangle. Place an oval in the center of the rectangle, with at least 3/4″ card left all around. Slice these two layers, so the machine will cut the oval out.
- Add 1″ wide rectangles on each side of the card rectangle. Weld all the layers. Add score lines to the edges of the card front, then another set of score lines 1/4″ from the first set. Attach all layers. This creates a 1/4″ deep box when you fold along the score lines. Cut a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of clear cover plastic to fit inside the box. Glue inside the box, all around the oval. Set aside.
- Cut a piece of 10″ x 4.25″ cardstock. Score and fold in half to make an A2 size card.
- Create a dried floral arrangement on the notecard front.
- Glue the box on top of the florals onto the card front.
- Make your own envelope from printer paper or buy A7 size envelopes. If you want to mail this card, I would place it in a cardboard mailer or another mail safe box.
