My own granddaughters might miss this latest vintage trend, as it’s been going for a couple of years already. Something else might be trending when they start thinking of weddings and bridal showers for themselves.

It thrills me to see the vintage look coming back. It was so much the thing in the 80s and 90s, when I got married and decorated my first home. I dragged my new husband to all the craft sales and thrift stores looking for the style of vintage that was “in” then. I’m sure I hung on to all that long after everyone else moved on, because it really has been my style all my life.

I seriously loved the “post- hippie” era.

Tarnished brass candlesticks, tarnished brass anything.

Macramé.

Dried flowers.

Yes, it’s exciting to see the modern twist the brides and stylists are giving those things I loved way back when. It’s different, and yet so familiar.

Vintage Themed Bridal Shower Using Dried Flowers

Vintage can be used anytime of the year, but Fall going into Winter seems like the best time to incorporate dried flowers into the theme.

Flower Bar as Décor Doubles as Shower Favors

Line up a row of bottles or vases with different dried flowers, as suggested by prettycolorfullife.com. This linked post also has a list of dried flowers to use, which is only a small part of the abundance available. If possible use dried florals from your own garden or neighborhood roadsides and woods.

These flowers can be purchased or gathered long before the shower. That’s one huge advantage dried flowers have over fresh! First, make a dried flower bridal shower invitation.

Then, so you’re not left with a lot of leftover décor, provide smaller bottles for every guest to make their own everlasting bouquet to take home. (The vintage word for dried flowers is “everlastings.”)
