Things to tell your Grandma on Mother’s Day

There are more women in your life to honor on Mother’s Day than just your mother.

Chances are you’ve spent much time with your grandmothers, and they’ve also influenced your life and taught you things your mother may have missed.

2. Thank you for making all my favorites all these years.  There’s no (name dish) like yours.

Things to tell someone who is like a Mother to you.

When I left home and didn’t get to see my own mother as often, there was always someone who I looked to as a Mom substitute.

The mother of a friend who influenced me without even realizing it.

An older mother who saw me struggling as a young mom, and was caring enough to point me in a better direction.

The woman who gave me healthy recipes when she saw I wasn’t taking the time to eat properly.

Most women have the kind of heart that can’t help mothering when they see someone who needs it.

Here are a few words you can say to this person in your life:

1. There is no one else quite like you. (Name the thing you admire.)
2. Thank you for being special in my life.  (Name the thing you appreciate.)
3. You have a caring heart, and I truly appreciate it.
4. I’m so glad I got to know you.  Thank you for accepting me as one of your own.

Put the cherry on top.

A sundae doesn’t seem quite complete if it doesn’t have a cherry on top.
