Skillet-Fried Green Beans

The flavor secret to this dish is getting a slightly charred taste without over-heating the oil.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp.. canola oil
  • 1 lb. green beans frozen, thawed and drained, or fresh, parboiled and drained
  • 8 slices bacon crisp fried, drained, and broken into pieces
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • salt and seasoned pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Heat the oil in a cast iron skillet and sauté the minced garlic to infuse the flavor. Add the green beans and bacon. Sauté, stirring, until heated. The beans should be slightly firm, and the bacon crispy. Season and serve.
