Caramelized Pigs in a Blanket
A sweet and savory mix of deliciousness. Very easy to put together.
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds
- 1 pkg. little smokies, large
- 2 pkgs. crescent rolls (16 total)
Melt the butter, and add water and brown sugar. Heat till mixed. Don't boil. Set aside.
Open the Little Smokies and drain on paper towel. The Pigs in a Blanket will be crisper if the smokies are dry. Set aside.
Open crescent rolls and divide at perforations. Cut each crescent into fourths, or thirds if you like more blanket on your pigs. We like fourths.
Roll a piece of dough around each little smokie and place in greased jelly roll pan.
Pour the caramel and almonds over the Little Smokies and bake at 375° for 15 to 20 minutes, until golden and the dough looks done.
