Personalize and Sew the Bee Pillow Cover

Personalize the Pillow Cover

  • Press the 22" x 14" solid fabric smooth. This is the pillow cover front.
  • Tape the printable pattern onto a work surface.
  • Position and tape the pillow cover front on top of the pattern.
  • Trace the pattern onto the fabric with the black fabric marker.
  • Press according to the directions on your specific fabric marker to set the design.

Sew the Pillow Cover

  • Press the two 14" x 14" back pillow cover pieces.
  • Choose an edge on each piece to be the center back of the pillow. The grain of the fabric pieces should run the same way for front and back.
  • Press a double 1/4" hem onto each of these center edges, to the back of fabric.
  • Stitch the hems.
  • Place pillow front piece on work surface, right side up.
  • Place pillow backs on top of front piece, right side down. Hem sides should overlap each other about 6".
  • Clamp (pin) all around the outside edges, and sew together with a straight 5/8" seam.
  • Snip the corners on an angle, then turn pillow cover.
  • Slip the pillow form inside the pillow cover through the overlapped back edges.
  • Smooth, fluff, and decorate!
