Personalized Honeybee Nursery Nightlight DIY
What you need:
- faux wood LED light strip
- clear acrylic sheets
- craft vinyl
- clear vinyl transfer paper
- Cricut, Silhouette or other cutting machine
- Cricut mat and tools
How to make the Acrylic Panel:
- Upload the honeybee design onto Cricut design space:
Go to this page and fill in our email list form,
and ask for “Honeybee Nightlight Design.”
Save it to your computer and upload it to your cutting design screen.
Size it to fit your acrylic panel. Our honeybee is 3″ across, as our panel measures 5″ across x 6″ high. - Select “type” on your design screen and add your child’s name or monogram to the design. Arrange it to your liking.
- If you are placing the vinyl on the back side of your acrylic panel, reverse the image.
- Load vinyl onto a cutting mat, and adjust the cut for vinyl. Cut.
- Weed off the extra pieces, then place clear transfer paper over the design.
- Place on the acrylic panel, and carefully transfer the vinyl onto the panel. Adhere tightly.
Now just put your project together
and light up the night for your little one.
Slip the bottom of the acrylic panel into the light stand slot and you’re done.
It has a USB connector, so plug it into any electronic USB connection, then use the switch to toggle the light on and off. (I’m not sure why these lights come with USB plugs, and if you prefer a wall plug, get one of your old phone chargers and designate it for this nightlight so it can be plugged into the wall outlet permanently.)
Isn’t it too sweet?
