Papa Bear Father’s Day Card Tutorial
We have two ways you can make this card that we made with the glittles in this post.
You can print the colored download on cardstock, cut it out and glue, and VOILA! you’re almost done!
Or you can use the download for a pattern, and cut the pieces out of your choice of colored card stock.
What you need:
- The Papa Bear Card download.
Go to our contact form and request “Papa Bear Card template.” For internet safety, we ask you to sign up to our GIFT List. This gets you on our email list for future freebies and coupons. However, if you just want this download, you are welcome to unsubscribe any time. (Boohoo…) - Card stock to print the download. Use white card if you plan to make the card green like our printable. Note: you need a printer that prints in color and can handle heavy paper. Our favorite is the Epson XP-960. If you don’t have a color printer, use the printable for a pattern and trace the pieces onto card stock in your choice of colors. You need a dark and light color and white for the nose circle. Draw the nose lines on with a black marker or pencil crayon.
- A big pompom for the nose and 2 big googly eyes.
- Scissors and glue.
How to make the Papa Bear card:
- The colored printable download: Cut out all the pieces. Fold the green card in half. Glue the light green ear pieces onto the dark green ears. Glue below the black dots, then use the black dots as a guide to adhere the ears behind the top fold of the card. Add the pompom nose and the googly eyes.
- The black and white printable pattern: Cut out all the pieces. Use them to trace the pieces onto the color of card stock you choose to use. Transfer the black dots to the ear pieces if you want a guide for gluing them on to the card. Use white or the lighter color of card for the nose. Glue all the pieces as described in number 1.
- That was easy, wasn’t it?
Papa Bear Envelope
What you need:
- A 12″ x 12″ piece of printed scrapbook paper.
- The envelope pattern from the Papa Bear Card download.
- Scissors, glue, ruler, pencil.
How to make the envelope:
- Print the envelope pattern on regular printer paper and glue it together as shown.
- Cut out the pattern and trace it on the wrong side of the scrapbook paper. Cut out the scrapbook paper.
- Fold the envelope as shown, and glue the edges of the flaps. (Except for the top flap, so you can insert the card.)
Write a message in your card
It’s not always easy to think of what to write in a card.
You can write, “Happy Father’s Day, Papa Bear.”
If you want a pun you can write, “I love you beary much! Happy Father’s Day.”
Then sign your name and tuck it into the envelope, all ready for Father’s Day, the third Sunday of June.
