Newlyweds Kitchen Check List
Don’t think about this now, in case of overwhelm,
but every room in your new home needs furnishing and supplying with necessities.
However, the kitchen fridge and pantry are one of the first priorities – because we all have to eat.
And as newlyweds,
after the honeymoon is over and you cross that threshold as a married couple
for the first time
there is the time everyday hunger for daily sustenance makes itself known
and there’s no one to make that food besides yourselves.
That’s when the reality of a Kitchen Check List becomes super important.

so we created our printable cheat sheet
to make shopping for mundane stuff more bearable.
(After having all that fun shopping for your wedding, who really wants to shop for eggs and cereal?)
Maybe you don’t like going to an actual grocery store –
there are ways to fill your pantry remotely.
For example, order online and do curbside pickup.
For staples like spices and pasta and brand name items, that totally works.
However, fresh fruits and vegetables can’t be designated to a “robot” shopper.
Our list doesn’t include your choices of fresh foods, as everyone’s likes and needs will differ.
The cheat sheet is more about necessary “background” items.

An app I use a lot is Flipp. I have it on my phone, but you can use the gold link to go to the website on your computer. Just enter your zip code and they show you all the current ads from your local grocery stores.
A friend has closets full of things she gets free from combining coupons and sales. Sometimes she gives items to people in need, sometimes she sells them to boost her own bank account. Most of us won’t ever reach that level of saving, but a little is a good thing. Good stewardship, and all.
I didn’t know how to fry eggs when I got married, but I’m sure you’re not like that. I do wish this cookbook had been available when I was first sentenced to a kitchen for full time cooking.
