Modern Decor Ideas for a Geometric Themed Baby Shower

Terrarium Vases
Find terrarium vases here* or here*. Find succulents as real plants in most flower shops or use lovely imitations like these*.
A little more off the wall, if you’re looking for more DIY, affordable sources, there are many light fixtures from 20 years ago in the thrift stores that have glass pieces like this. I still have one in my kitchen, that with the light taken out would look just like a terrarium!
(Taking the light fixture down would give me a great excuse to modernize my lighting, and at the same time have a modern decor idea. Ironic, yes?)
Gem Fairy Lights
The gem fairy lights* in the upper left photo make your geo statement in a big way. String them above the mommy-to-be’s chair, or above the food table to bring the look together.
Succulents – Real or Imitation*
Choosing whether to use real or imitation floral accents would be a hard call for me. The angular shapes of the succulents go well with the geo shaped vases, and you could use air plants and moss for a forever arrangement that would last well after the shower, either in your own decor or shared with the mommy-to-be. You could also use them as game prizes at the end of the shower.
Rocks and Geodes*
The metal and glass geometric terrarium vases were inspired by natural geodes and gemstones. You may have a collection of beautiful rocks you can scatter around your tablescapes. At one point, my sons collected and bought amethyst and other rocks that would be perfect for this theme. (I inherited them when they grew up and moved out.)
Mercury Votives
Scatter these mercury votives* among the centerpieces for extra sparkly light.
Geode Party Cake
If you can make a birthday cake with reasonable success, you can create a Geode Baby Shower Cake. Even kids’ camps teach how to do it. We haven’t tried it, but if we do, we’ll add our tutorial to the mix that’s out there!
