A Special Valentine’s Day: Love, Family and a Little Chocolate
A Special Valentine’s Day means
Love, Family and a Little Chocolate.
Am I right?
Who needs a big night out in a crowded restaurant?
Not this lady.
For so long AB (After Babies) my husband and I didn’t eat in restaurants.
And most certainly not on Valentine’s Day.
We got tired of the spills and the tussles and besides, we didn’t have money for anything.
And a person gets tired of Taco Bell and MickeyDs really, really fast.
So, finally, after our babies were old enough to stay home alone,
and supported mom and dad going out for a Valentine’s special,
(should we have been worried? Ah, they were good kids. Mostly.),
well, so one year we decided to go to a Real Restaurant.
We drove half an hour to our Special Place, then stood in line for 45 minutes watching all the other couples trying to have fun waiting for their meal served by hassled waitresses.
I can think of sooooo many ways we could have enjoyed that evening more.
And we did, after we got out of that restaurant and walked down a favorite street in downtown Phoenix.
February 14th: A Special Day for Love and Family
What I’m trying to say is my love language is not eating out on Valentine’s Day in a busy city like ours.
Celebrating friendship and family love is important, too.
We’ll do the “mooshy” stuff with all our loved ones gathered round!
Family love is a gift we are so thankful for, and never want to take for granted.
So here’s the plan.
We’ll have Family Night In!
I’ll get this knit and sew dresses for my 3 sweet granddaughters and Kim so they can all look alike! 🙂
They love to come over for Saturday night sleep-overs, so we’ll set and decorate the table together.
We’ll make these flowers for our table centerpiece.
We’ll bake this cake in a heart shaped pan, because baked cheesecake is the only dessert my son really loves.
A heart swag with all the words from the Love Chapter in the Bible, which we made in this post.
