Kid’s Little Farm Coloring Book
Today we’re introducing our kid’s Little Farm Coloring Book, an economical, recyclable and old-fashioned giftable. Littles will spend hours with their colored pencils on scenes they love.
And then,
to make a momma’s or grandma’s heart (and fridge) happy,
they can cut along the dotted line,
and give the finished picture away.

I wanted to come up with a little something to add to the Christmas gifts we bought for the boy g’littles.
Something close to their hearts,
yet something that wouldn’t cost a lot.
Also, because kimenink.com likes to use eco-friendly and recyclable materials,
a coloring book seemed like a good choice.
But I know my boy g’littles, who live on The Little Farm by the River.
They love their farm animals and they adore machines and tractors.
So I googled around the web for some public domain art,
then bundled it up into a 10 page booklet.
I don’t know about your lower to middle graders, but ours never want their coloring pictures too big. A full printer paper size picture is too much to color when you use colored pencils or felt markers.
And grandma likes the result because they’ll put more time and effort into a picture that’s a manageable size.
And that’s why our coloring book is 6.5″ x 8.5″ little.
Coloring Page Size makes all the difference.
But so do the coloring mediums.
These are our g’littles favorites when they want to create a special picture:
(Amazon affiliate links in bold for your convenience. We may get a small commission, but it doesn’t change your price.)
- soft lead center colored pencils such as Prismacolor (my adult favorite that they love to use when I’m feeling generous), or the more affordable, Castle Art pencils.
- Arteza Twimarkers set of 48, or more affordable yet good, Shuttle Art set of 72 dual tip washable markers.
Of course, the typical school supplies are fine, especially for beginners. However, I love to encourage them to go beyond the basic “fill the page with color” and ask them to make me a “fridgable” page. Meaning, the best they can do so I’m proud to display it on my fridge. Of course, anything they give me goes on the fridge, but they do sometimes go above and beyond. That’s when I really make a fuss and do a ceremonial fridge application. With a little extra song and dance and a tad over-the-top praise. That’s what grandmas are for.
