A Guide to Inspirational Mother’s Day Gifts
Our Inspirational Mother’s Day Gifts Guide is a collection of special keepsakes or little luxuries for the mom (or grandma) who loves stationery. And books. And words. I know, because these are all on my list.
My chances to create or purchase special gifts for my Mother on Mother’s Day are over. She’s been sitting with the angels for almost 3 years now. (I won’t say singing with the angels, because I can’t actually imagine her doing that. She didn’t ever go about belting out songs. I do remember her humming sometimes. I’ll never forget her soothing, quiet voice.)
And her deep, abiding love for God. She didn’t preach it. She lived it. Her spiritual example inspires me every single day.
And these gifts we’ve chosen for our 2023 Mother’s Day Gift-Guide honor that heritage.
9 Inspirational Gift Ideas for Mother’s Day
We don’t have a huge list, but anyone from a young child with a little to spend, to a suited up bank manager can find something here.

1. Canvas with Personalized Puzzle Pieces
I always appreciate personalized gifts to add to my Wall of Family above my bed.
This canvas would fit in almost anywhere in the house.
2. Monogram Tote Bag
Any mom could find a use for this cute tote bag. Picnics, beach trips, shopping, library run, carry-on… I could use 5!
3. Etched Glass Lantern
Children light up a mom’s world, so this lantern with an etched message to mom on the glass fits the occasion perfectly.
I’d keep it beside my meditation space…
4. Embossed Leather Journal
Is your mother a journal keeper? A list maker? Help her get organized with this beautiful heart embossed leather journal.
I’d love to have one of these on the table beside that lantern above.
5. Italian Pen with pure gold flakes
So I admit it. I’m a bit of a snob about classy pens. I want a lovely vintage Victorian desk with Queen Ann legs and a skinny drawer filled with snail mail letters in my drawing room when I grow up. The kind the ladies had where I used to clean houses.
And then I want a pen like this, casually laying in it’s open leather case, on the gleaming top.
Maybe your mother or grandmother has that dream, too.
6. Prayer Box
Lately, we discussed intercessory prayer in Sunday School, and whether any of the Church ladies kept prayer lists. My friend said she had at one time, but she quit because she felt it kept her from spontaneous prayers. If she concentrated on a prayer list, she missed the Spirit reminding her of someone who might need prayers and wasn’t on her list.
But whether you keep a prayer list or not, this box with included cards can keep your deepest requests right there to read when you wish. And then put them back in the box, giving it all to God, literally and figuratively.
7. Inspirational Tea DIY
Does your mom like handmade gifts? If she’s a tea drinker, she’d love these inspirational teabags.
I know, you’re probably going, “What?” Drinking tea is a ritual for some, a way to relax and rejuvenate.
So why wouldn’t a scripture on the teabag’s pull tag make sense? We think it does. And we think your mother or grandma would love her favorite tea repackaged into beautiful handmade wrappers.

8. Handmade Seed Paper Mother’s Day Card
This is another fun DIY, and easily done with most of the supplies right in your pantry.
Except for the starch and the seeds, probably.
This Handmade Seed Paper tutorial is one of our most popular posts on the blog, and could be used for any occasion for anyone who loves growing things.
9. Handmade Mother’s Day Card
