Random Sketches and Scribbles
4 days at the Little-farm-by-the-river, baby hugs and little boy squishes.
A Slow Week
on the blog
because we had a lovely wedding invitation order
and all the energy and time went into making that a great experience for the bride.
One of these times we’ll show you how we try to do that.
It’s one of my favorite printing jobs.
Right next to printing (or designing) baby’s first year calendars.
We use 100% cotton rag paper for wedding invitations.
That means we’re sort of exclusive.
since we only use handmade papers.
So if you are or someone you know is a bride who loves handmade paper,
we love printing wedding stationery.

Four Days on the Little-Farm-by-the-River
Finally the day came for us to visit our family on the Little-Farm-by-the-River.
And it was perfect.
When the door opened on the airplane and we got a whiff of the outside air,
I just sucked in a great big breath. “Ahh, I smell country!”
And then we met them at the curb in front of the terminal,
and the good times began to roll.
It was a low-key, relaxing together time.
The most exciting thing we did (second to being with the glittles, and their parents) was a supper beside the river
with dragonflies swooping all around, water gurgling over the sandbars
(their river is never very deep, except in the middle channel.)
We ate our hamburgers on homemade rolls, toasted some marshmallows
and then the sun slowly slipped down behind the hills across the tracks
with the neighbors herd of cows standing on the crest silhouetted against the red streaks.
Then Friday night came and it was time for the last baby hugs and little boy squishes
and it was home again. Sigh.
Favorite Chuckle this week:
I love the smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning.
And I love the sound of no one talking to me while I drink it.
Books of the week:
Sorry, no books again this week.
When I’m with my grandchildren on the little-farm-by-the-river we read aloud: all their favorites. Which this week, included Beatrix Potter books because we made these little books together. So they got out their collection and we read some of them.
