Random Sketches and Scribbles
This week we’re all about Peter Rabbit and Mr. McGregor’s Garden
All because of an accidental phone call from a niece…
Isn’t it amazing what can happen when someone pushes the “wrong” icon on their phone?
I love the experience of getting a video call from someone out of the blue. Someone I haven’t talked to or seen in a long, long time. And it’s totally time to reconnect.
And then,
“oops – pushed the wrong button”
and you’re seeing their morning hair because even though it’s afternoon where they are, they’re just like me, and they’re so into what they’re doing that they haven’t got to the comb and hairspray yet.
So from that little accident, an amazing conversation happens.
And inspires a week of Mr. McGregor’s Garden on the blog.
I hope you have someone who pushes the wrong icon on their phone so you can have an amazing conversation this next week.
It is embarrassing when I do it (maybe) but so awesome when I’m the recipient.
(How about, sometime, push the wrong icon sort-of-almost by mistake but not really?
Someone might be inspired for a whole week!)

We’re asking for some audience participation, please…
Sometimes,
we can be inspired,
but can’t come up with the one thing people want.
Actually, that happens a lot…
So, this week, could you take a moment, and fill in your ideas in this form, where only we will see what you’ve written?
Of course, you’re also welcome to comment right here on this post. Which is best of all. But we get it. I’m too shy to comment just anywhere on the net, too, where someone can see what I said. And stalk me or ghost me or… you know how social media is. We all love to hate it.
But could you think of it as a business tool for us, and we need our customers and advisors here, because we don’t see you face to face? (Except for accidental video calls.)
So our big question is this:
Which of these designs do you like, or hate?
Thank you.

The World Outside Our Work Window
Last night we volunteered our time to help clean the g’little’s school. (While they’re away to attend their aunt’s wedding.)
There were some major renovations that happened there: popcorn removed, new paint, new carpet. It is so beautiful and new looking, now.
But there was dry wall dust and mud chips all over everything. I was sent to the library, and every single book had to be removed from the shelves and dusted, then the shelf cleaned of all flying debris, and the books put back.
In the same order. (The Library Lady was right there working alongside us.)
So now it’s all ready for our littles to go back to school in a couple of weeks.
Favorite Chuckle this week:
Since it’s back to school time, this one hit my funny bone.
They call it ironman. Why not fe male.
(Clue: It’s a periodic joke.)
Books of the week:
by Kim E. Nielson
We’ve all read the stories of Helen Keller, and the teacher who helped the miracle happen. But how much do you know about Anne Sullivan, who has a truly sad story herself. I read a little tidbit about her, which is included in this article, that tweaked my interest in this great Teacher. I looked for a biography that would include some of the little known information about her. I haven’t read this book yet, but I hope it gets down to the finer details of her early life.
Amazon: A moving portrait of Anne Sullivan Macy, teacher of Helen Keller—and a complex, intelligent woman worthy of her own spotlight.
And one for your littles,
by Wanda Kay Knight
I apologize that I haven’t read this one, either. But it sounds promising.
Amazon: Anne was determined. She would find a way to keep her brother safe! She would find a way to have a better life! She would find a way to help Helen understand sign language! Anne found a way to made her dreams come true and she changed the world while she was doing it.
