Our Little Farm on the River Family is coming!
This grandma is thankful that schoolchildren have spring break.
Because when their parents promise to bring the family there’s only a small window of time that it works.
They have to come during spring break.
Which for the boys on the Little Farm by the River begins next Friday.
We are all celebrating!
Even though my g’littles from here have their break this week, and will miss out on some of the fun. We’ll have the weekend and the evenings.

The World Outside Our Work Window
There are many “pop-up” charities these days to help the Ukrainians.
Here’s one you’ll be proud to be a part of, because it is 100% donated to the people. The organizers donate all their time, receiving no income for themselves. This is unusual, but that is how all our Church’s missions are run. You can feel good about donating to

Favorite Purchase this week:
Just a couple of weeks ago my sister-in-law and I wondered why there were no macrame beads with large holes.
Back in the day, you know, the last time macrame was popular, there were beads with holes large enough to string more than one cord through.
Well, this week I found them on Amazon. We got these beads* yesterday, and are looking forward to using them.
We had a hard time deciding between the ones we got, and these* or these.* Next time.
Books of the week:
“The Language of Kindness*”
by
This week a family lost a husband, father, grandfather in our town. They were on vacation when he got sick. That seems to make it so much harder, doesn’t it? To lose a loved one so quickly and away from home at that.
Also, our brother-in-law who fell before our February family reunion is back home in his own country now, but still in the hospital.
These things make us realize even more the value of our medical caregivers. So that’s where my reading interests went this week.
Amazon:
#1 INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER • A moving, lyrical, beautifully-written portrait of a nurse and the lives she has touched
Christie Watson spent twenty years as a nurse, and in this intimate, poignant, and remarkably powerful book, she opens the doors of the hospital and shares its secrets. She takes us by her side down hospital corridors to visit the wards and meet her unforgettable patients.
Through the smallest of actions, nurses provide vital care and kindness. All of us will experience illness in our lifetime, and we will all depend on the support and dignity that nurses offer us; yet the individuals who form the vanguard of our health care remain unsung. In this age of fear, hate, and division, Christie Watson has written a book that reminds us of all that we share, and of the urgency of compassion.

“Curious George Goes To The Hospital“*
by H. A. Rey
You can depend on Curious George. This time he swallows a puzzle piece (not good) and ends up in the hospital and has experiences that tell us about hospital life (good).
Amazon:
Read about Curious George’s operation, the doctors and nurses who care for him, and the friends he makes while recovering in this story all about what it’s like to go to the hospital.
