We were busy again, but that’s good, right?

”
We gain strength, and courage,
and confidence by each experience
in which we really stop to look fear in the face…
we must do that which we think we cannot.

Our Favorite Inklings: Attaining Inner Strength
Last weekend was Easter, beginning as a sad, thought-filled Friday, then ending as an inspiring Sunday. During the days leading up to Easter I studied the story of the women who went to the tomb and found it empty. And noticed that the angel told them to go tell the disciples, and Peter, that Jesus had risen.
I noticed the “and Peter” and wondered about that particular wording. Then at church on Sunday John mentioned the same thing, noting that denying Christ cost him his discipleship.
I was like, whaaaa?
This sent me to reading several of the gospels about that, then asked John in the evening how long Peter was out of the “fold.” John said, “Three days. Till after the resurrection.” He probably was referring to when Jesus asked Peter, “lovest thou Me?” It seems Jesus wanted to reassure Peter that He believed in His love, but wanted him to understand fully that living for Christ meant dedication. Being all in.
So, that was in my thoughts a lot this week. How Jesus made sure the women would include Peter in the good news of His resurrection. How amazing is that? Jesus knows our hearts, and waits and cares while we work out our failures and disappointment with ourselves, then gently reassures us that we are worthy to work for Him when we once again find our way back.
Attaining inner strength
includes growing all our talents.
Which these next inklings can do:
With Mother’s Day coming up, I want to order the supplies so I can make these amazing edible flowers.
End of school is near at hand, so moms are thinking about teacher gifts. I might borrow this idea, because it’s a great handmade gift for any occasion.
If you’re starting to collect projects for summer when the littles are out of school, take note of this one.
We’re all spending more time outside these days, whether we garden or drink our morning coffee on the patio and look at gardens in a magazine. I think this outdoor idea is going on my want-to-make list.
Do you love free stuff? Oh, good. We do, too. So we check out this great site for free SVG files every once in awhile.
What will you do next week?
We have a few things on our list…
One of our projects involves muslin and fabric dye. Don’t forget to check back.
Our quote of the week:
