‘Ink Re-cap 114 and Inspiring Inklings for the Weekend
‘Ink Re-cap 114.
Family loss, Christmas, New Year 2021, blog happenings
and inspiring inklings for the weekend.
Capping the pen and wrapping up this blog week
and Holiday happenings we haven’t written about yet.
December was different than we could ever have imagined.
My mother-in-law was sick the last half of 2020. She steadily got weaker and weaker, then at the end of November we found out she had cancer. My good husband took 2 weeks off work to go be with her in the hospital, then in hospice back at the nursing home.
Then, December 14, she went home to Jesus, and Dad-in-law, and her grandson, Craig. Quietly, she finally slipped away. Longingly, she flew into the arms of her Comforter. Forever.
But that left us with sad hearts and a funeral to plan.
In the midst of Christmas coming fast, and Covid restrictions.
But as if Mother In Law planned it in the usual efficient way she had, everything worked out pleasantly and inspiringly.
We felt God’s loving eyes on us at all times, helping and nudging the logistics of it all.
And of course, His loving arms holding us in a down quilt of loving memories.
And then suddenly it was 2021!
‘Ink Re-Cap 114 First blog week of the New Year.
and it hardly seemed we’d had time to get our days back to normal.
I was thankful we’d written a few almost-complete posts before the rush happened.
Here’s a list of our posts for this week, with our usual Monday (Wedding) – Tuesday (Baby) – Wednesday (Kitchen) – Thursday (Craft) – Friday (Inspirational) lineup.

In more great news,
Kim decided to give up her job search for now and concentrate on our website.
This makes me so happy,
because that’s what the plan was from the very beginning.
You all have to understand though, that having autism/constant brain anxiety makes it very difficult to concentrate on specific goals without second guessing and wondering if something else would be better.
We all find ourselves on rabbit trails, but someone on the spectrum has to be a giant at managing their thoughts. And the rabbit trails are more like elephant paths in the jungle.
So please keep us in your prayers this year, so we can work together and grow our business as a team.
‘Ink Re-cap 114: Inspiring Inklings for the Weekend…
I love this thought for the New Year.
Kim&Ink’s Secret Passion
We’ve built and remodeled (as in fix-n-flip) several homes in our lifetime.
Home Design, Building and decor is in our genes, even if it’s not our main source of income.
So this post on 2020 Design Trends is a must-see.
A List of Books to read this year
is what this post is about, but it’s also a feast for a House Decorator fan!
I’ll add another book (or series of books) to this list, one my niece said I should read, er, listen to.
Our house is suffering from a Holiday gone away too fast.
We decorated for Christmas, somewhat, then my husband’s family came for the week of my Mother-in-law’s memorial, and it all happened so fast we sort of missed out on Christmas.
And it feels as if it’s too soon to pack away all the Christmas décor.
So this post about turning Holiday décor into winter décor is just the thing for me.
And the pictures are simply awesome.
And a few more awesome inklings.
We love learning more about papers and which card stock to buy for which project. So this post is just as helpful to us as we know it will be to you.
Sometimes we just need to see a few “random words to inspire action” and this post has a few really good ones to remember in this new year.
And I always enjoy The Joy Dare printables you can print from here.
So sweet of you to share our books to read this year! Thank you so much. I hope your weekend has been a blessed one, CoCo
It’s a great list, Coco. Thank you for putting it together. Hope 2021 is awesome for you.
