‘Ink Re-Cap 106 and A Saturday G’littles Sleepover
This week’s ‘Ink Re-cap (106)
AND
the g’littles came for a Saturday sleepover.
We haven’t had one of those for a long, long time.
We hope you join us for this week’s re-cap. Number 106.
It’s not actually that we’ve done 106 weeks of re-caps, but we have to name it something,
so 106 comes after 105, but we actually started with 101. So this is still a new thing for us.
Please hang in with us as we figure out what this post should be about.
First we want to re-cap our week on Kim & Ink…
It was another good week,
made even better since the intense summer temperatures finally broke and we’re having
the Best Cool Mornings since last spring. Probably April.
Other stuff that happened…
The brides got a special freebie this week.
A short and basic wedding planner printable so you can take a quick look in your wedding planner album and by reading this one page, know that you’ve got the most important things covered.
This planner is available in the Meadow Gold design, but will be listed in the Wedding Shop in all our wedding designs shortly. We’ll let you know when we have them all up and ready.
Have you moms and dads been wondering what the most popular names are for 2020?
We compiled multiple lists of most popular, least popular, nicknames for names, etc. Check out the post here.
With the cooler mornings, we started thinking about yummy fall hot drinks. You’ll love our favorites as much as we do. There’s a couple that will surprise you.
Because they might not seem like drinks you’d find on our pages. But they’re safe and good. Check them out.
And also because of the cooler mornings, and the calendar day for autumn fast approaching, we shared some gorgeous fall printables with links to find them around the web. These are totally free, and unbelievably worth printing. We found one or more for every kitchen and every one of our GIFTee’s decor choices.
One morning this week we read Psalm 61 because it had been ringing through my mind a few days already. So our inspirational post for Friday was a few thoughts that came to me as I kept thinking about lifting our hearts in praise even when daily life (fires, storms, accidents) almost overwhelm us. “We life our hearts in praise to You, we lift our hearts in joy.” There’s something so courageous about being able to praise God even in the hard stuff. I want to be more like David.
What we do when the g’littles come for Saturday sleepover…
With the cooler weather the girls spend more time outside. Watching the koi eat their suppers, jumping on the trampoline, and visiting Kim in her barn-loft apartment.
(Did we tell you Kim is living in an apartment on our yard now, instead of in the house with us? She likes it. Especially since her little Andy dog can be right there with her. In the house here, he has to stay in the garage. With the door open so he can hear us, lol. Otherwise he gets too lonesome and starts whining, the spoiled baby.)
We don’t have any special projects planned for today, because the girls went to our little church-school with Grandpa this morning. The dads of all the school children were doing some yard updating and lots of the children like to go play while they’re working. I saw rollerblading, skateboarding, and other fun stuff going on when I was there to drop them off.
Something to take with you for the weekend…
I’ve been seeing these fabric pumpkins around the web for a few falls already. I think this is the year to try making them. Especially if my g’little want something to do this afternoon.
This story appeals to us for two reasons. It has to do with a Tommy Tippee sippy cup (Baby), and a dad’s dilemma with his autistic son (autism). The boy needed to drink to avert dehydration, but he will only drink from a blue Tommy Tippee cup and his dad could not find one anywhere. Then the company came up with an amazing solution to the problem.
Once more we remembered 9-11 and the attacks on New York’s twin towers. Again there were people wishing to connect with first responders who helped them to safety. The people in this story surprised a co-worker with a virtual reunion with the police officer who led her to safety 19 years ago.
If a man makes candy that he named Jelly Bellies, he’s going to come up with fun stuff, don’t you think? David Klein is planning to retire from candy making soon, but before he does, he’s giving away a candy factory. To the person who wins his treasure hunt. Go here to read how you can enter the treasure hunt to win yourself a candy factory!
If you need to laugh at the aftermath of covid and forest fires, because if you didn’t you would simply weep,
then this is the story for you. “14 Beautiful Shots of California’s Cities at Night.” Totally tongue-in-cheek and totally hilarious. If you’re in the mood.
What kind of stories do you laugh at during overwhelming times?
Do you find the most relief from laughing
or from praying and singing Psalms?
May you have a most blessed weekend.
