Eucalyptus and Dried Flower Winter Centerpiece
Fresh cut eucalyptus and dried flower winter centerpiece is an easy and impressive last minute table DIY. Amber glass bottles with fairy lights add magic.
I haven’t done very much tablescaping lately.
Decorating the table used to be my favorite part of entertaining company, but we haven’t had a lot of company lately. Well, besides family, and those meals tend to be too last minute to have time to imagine a unique centerpiece.
Sometimes my guests even have to help me set the table.
But now, in the near future, we expect some special guests, and I want them to know how much they mean to us.
One way I know to do this is to be extra with table décor.
If my husband grills part of the meal, that could be another way to give our best; unfortunately my cooking isn’t anything special. Unless I decorate cakes, which this event doesn’t call for. However, I could make a Red Velvet Cheese Cake. That takes a bit of love to make…
So desserts and décor is how I show I care…
Now let’s do this home grown tablescape…
How to make the Dried Flower Winter Centerpiece
Supplies:
- flexible eucalyptus branches, cut from our tree, but available at any florist.
- florist wire
- dried florals. If you don’t have any on your yard, this is an excellent source for any beauties you could wish for.
- several amber glass bottles in varying sizes.
- fairy lights

Directions:
- I tried to use new growth from the ends of the branches, as they are the most flexible. I began by laying a cut end about centered on another branch and wiring them together. Continuing in this way, I made a long garland, which I then circled around into a narrow, oblong sort of wreath. My table is rather narrow, so I tried to keep it from getting too wide. I may need to add more wire.
- Tuck the amber glass bottles of dried flowers in the center of the oblong wreath.
- Add fairy lights to the wreath or inside the bottles for a little extra magic for evening dining.
This wreath is long lasting and will stay good looking for several weeks. Eucalyptus leaves dry in place quite well.
If you don’t have eucalyptus, perhaps you could try willow or weeping birch branches. The newest, slenderest growth is always the best, I think.
