Popular Fall 2023 Wedding Color Combos
The color possibilities for a fall wedding are as varied as for all the seasons.
The rich, vibrant colors of the trees offer ideal options.
Cooler temperatures allow fabrics you wouldn’t consider in spring or summer.
Fall brings to mind the colors of harvest; the golden waves of grain, the red and orange of falling leaves. It’s the time to use the warm colors of the color wheel. Soft, earthy hues and deep jewel tones.

Mauve and Gray Wedding Color Theme
A mauve and gray color theme will bring elegance and classical beauty to your special occasion.
Blend with blush and black for more color variations.
These gray invitations from Brown Fox Creative impress with silver foil lined blush envelopes.
Burnt Orange and Sage Green Combination
You can’t get more fall than incorporating burnt orange into your wedding colors.
Notice the endless variations in these roses, and then go from there. Beige, dusty peach, burnt orange, golden brown, together with sage green, forest green and dark brown.
These colors are perfect for a rustic, country look. Casual yet beautiful.
Black and Burgundy
Ohhh, how do I even start!
Sleek black twinned with rich burgundy? La-di-da! After that, you can add lilac, dusty rose, pale peach, cream, or silver.
It represents elegant, classic, traditional style. Think black plates, silver-gray napkins tied in a loose knot and clear crystal drinkware.
The invitation suite could be black with silver metallic ink and gray envelopes with burgundy lining.
Lilac and Dark Red for Fall Wedding Colors
Why is lilac a fall color? Because lilac lands on the color wheel nearer to red than blue. Red is a warm piece of the pie, so lilac can be considered a fall color. Lavender contains more blue than red, and is considered a cool color. This is getting technical perhaps, so if you have a hard time seeing the difference, go to Canva.com to see the subtleties.
Lilac is a shade of purple, a color associated with royalty. Before 1856, purple dye was very expensive and that made it a coveted color associated with wealth and power. They say that under the reign of Queen Elizabeth I of England in the 16th century, only close relatives of the royal family were permitted to wear purple.
The dark reds that blend with lilac are rose quartz or magenta. Think of red leaning toward purple, rather than toward orange.
A wedding incorporating these colors will be uniquely elegant rather than rustic-ly casual.
Dusty Rose plus Navy Equals Elegance
You can’t go wrong with navy as a color for a fall wedding.
And navy combines beautifully with soft dusty rose. I can just imagine all the possibilities.
Dusty rose bridesmaids dresses; navy blue suits for the men. Navy napkins on crisp white plates. Centerpiece of varying shades of pink, with white accent flowers and deep green leaves.
A fun suggestion: Table number cards with navy floral outline art on white, with gold metallic numbers. Or silver metallic if that is part of your theme, as in these invitations.
Maroon, Eggplant and Gold Color Theme
We’ve already established that purple is a rich fall color option.
In the earlier color choice we twinned a light shade of purple with dark red.
Here is the option of deep purple matched with dark red. Can’t you see it already? The photo below is a perfect beginning. And the addition of the white mini pumpkins? Brilliant.
One bridesmaid in deep purple, another in maroon. Deep red roses in the centerpieces. Or peonies if you can get them!
