Supplies:
- Cutting machine such as Cricut Explore.
- Cutting mat and accessories (scoring stylus).
- Scrapbook cardstock of your choice. We love this silver glitter paper because we want to use the treat boxes for our Winter Owl Baby Shower. You can use any colors or patterns of paper you wish.
- Glue, scissors, rhinestones for owl eyes.

Directions:
- Open Cricut Design Space and save a New Project under the name Owl Treat Boxes.
- Insert a 5″ x 7.4″ rectangle.
- Add a 3.5″ x 1.4″ half circle shape. Align to the top left corner of the rectangle. Duplicate the half circle, and place it right next to the first one. Select both half circles and attach. Duplicate the half circles and flip vertically. Align to the bottom left of the rectangle.
- Weld all the shapes together. Place vertical scoring lines at 3.5″ and 7″. The .4″ width is the gluing tab for the box.
- Place cardstock on the cutting mat, set the cutting depth for your specific card weight. Insert the scoring stylus. Cut the owl box pieces.
- Cricut Design Space can’t do curved scoring lines, so take the scoring stylus out of the machine and score curved lines into the rectangle that match the half circles. These, folded, will close the box.
.
.
. - Glue the pieces together, fill the boxes and fold the ends down to close the boxes.
- Create a new layer on the Owl Treat Boxes project. Add 14 – 1.2″ circles for the “breast feathers”; 2 – 1.2″ x 3.5″ ovals for “wings”; 2 – 1.75″ circles for eyes. Arrange these on the project to the size of your paper. Select all and weld together. Cut all the shapes.
- Glue together as shown in the images. Add black circles to the eyes, rhinestones for the eyes’ sparkle, the orange triangle for the nose, and the orange heart for the feet.
- The boxes are ready to fill for your party!
- Or hang empty from a tree like this for a winter baby shower.
