Supplies You’ll Need:
- Hershey’s Nuggets chocolate bars (any flavor—dark chocolate adds extra elegance!)
- Lightweight cardstock for covers
- Regular printer paper for interior pages
- Color printer
- Scissors
- Glue stick or craft glue

Step-by-Step Directions:
1. Print Your Materials
Download and print the book covers and interior pages. Print one copy of the covers on cardstock, then print the book pages double-sided on regular printer paper.
Important: When printing double-sided, flip the page on the long edge. The decorative gold lines won’t match up perfectly at first, but don’t worry—you’ll trim everything straight after assembly.
2. Cut Your Book Covers
Cut rectangles measuring 1 1/2″ x 2 3/8″ from your cardstock. You’ll need one rectangle for each book you’re making.
Planning Tip: For a standard baby shower of 20-30 guests, make 25-35 books to have extras for the dessert table or gift bags.
3. Wrap the Covers
Apply your printed cover designs to one side of each cardstock rectangle. Fold and glue the excess paper to the back (this will be the “inside” of the cover). These wrapped edges will be hidden by the chocolate bars, so don’t stress about perfection here.
4. Attach the Chocolate Bars
Glue two miniature chocolate bars side by side to the inside of each wrapped cover. Position them so they sit flat and even—these form the “spine” and body of your book.
5. Assemble the Interior Pages
Cut out the printed book pages and arrange them in order. Here’s where the magic happens: carefully place a thin line of glue just along the folded edge of your page stack. You want enough to hold them together, but not so much that the pages stick together.
After the glue dries, trim at least 1/8″ from all sides of the page block. This ensures your pages fit neatly on top of the chocolate bars. I typically trim off the page numbers completely for a cleaner look.
6. Final Assembly
Glue the first and last pages of your trimmed book to the top of the chocolate bars. The pages will naturally curve around the bars, creating that classic book shape we’re after.

7. Storage Until Party Time
Keep your finished books in a cool, dry place. If you’re in a warm climate, consider storing them in an air-conditioned room or even briefly in the refrigerator (but remove them an hour before the party to avoid condensation).
