DIY Farmhouse Kitchen Pendant Light with Vintage Style
We want to DIY a Farmhouse Kitchen Pendant light
with vintage style for the renovation
of our son’s little house on the river.
In the farmhouse on the river,
the 1919 Craftsman style house my son and DIL are renovating,
they cut a pass-through opening between the kitchen
and the now-office-former-dining-room.
To cut that 3×4 foot pass-through meant pulling off layers of vintage wallpaper,
then chopping through a 6 inch board and batten wall.
They did this messy job last fall, before moving in.
It was a dusty, messy job that resulted in one of their favorite upgrades.
When we had our family reunion a few weeks ago,
the men trimmed out the opening with old barn boards.
They didn’t have to go far for the boards.
They have their pick of several weather-beaten buildings
with the perfect paint-peeled siding on their property.
The pass-through is above the sink, which had solid cabinets above it before.
Now the light flows through from the office/den’s 4 large windows.
Of course, after dark, the ceiling light fixture isn’t enough for a kitchen,
so we’re brainstorming light options for the pass-through sink area.

What is Your Kitchen Décor Style: Trend or Fad?
Designing the DIY farmhouse pendant light.
Beside the desk in the office they have a homemade pipe/pulley floor lamp like this:
The room also has a 2000s era brass and glass ceiling fixture that DIL painted black.
So, wouldn’t a black cord with an Edison bulb be perfect?
Let’s find parts we could use on Amazon (affiliate links).
Our favorite DIY Farmhouse Kitchen Pendant light.
We like this last combination the best, because the bracket is plumbing pipe like the top picture’s floor lamp.
Now we’ll see which one our son and DIL pick.
