Cupcake Toppers DIY for a Dream-catcher Birthday Party
T
Our Little Dreamers collection is popular in our shop right now, and who can have a dreamy party for littles (or bigs) without some finger-friendly cupcakes?
So we thought you might want a quick little DIY on making cupcake toppers for that theme.
Little Dreamers Cupcake Toppers DIY
You only need a few things for this simple DIY. And if you don’t have the things on our list, you can always improvise with tools you do have.
What you need:
- The Little Dreamers Party Pack Printables (you can buy them here).
- 2″ scalloped craft punch, or a scissors
- Cupcake sticks. (One economical mama says to get stir sticks from Starbucks. They’re thinner than Popsicle sticks, and they’re free. If you don’t count the latte you buy so you can get a handful of sticks!) We think these bamboo skewers would be perfect. Also, toothpicks would work, if the frosting isn’t stacked too high.
- Glue, Exacto knife and pens or markers.
Punch Out the Circles
Trim around the cupcake toppers circles with a scissors so that it’s easier to center them with the punch.
Write names or Happy Birthday or any message you choose on the blank topper circles.
Assemble the Cupcake Toppers
Glue a stick to the center back of a topper with a design, then glue the entire back of a blank topper and adhere to the designed topper, back to back with the stick in the middle.
If the stick is too long, which it probably will be, score a line with the Exacto knife on both sides of the stick and break it off. If there’s some sharp edges, trim them with your paper scissors.
They’re ready to tuck into your party cupcakes!
