Winter Owl Cricut DIY for Baby’s Nursery is the perfect winter décor. Cut from snowy white cardstock, Awake Owl and Asleep Owl are simply adorable.

Of course, if you happen to have owls as your baby’s nursery theme, these will fit in perfectly.

Super simple to make, either cut by hand with an Exacto knife, or we show you how to upload the design to your Cricut so you can cut in multiples. Which would be perfect for a banner.

 

 

Winter Owl Cricut DIY

Materials:

• Cricut Explore or similar cutting machine
• Cutting mat and tools
• White cardstock. Ours is this 110# paper.
• Hole punch and string, if you want to hang your owls.

 

Directions:

1. Download the owl templates by filling in the form at the bottom of the page.
2. Save as png or jpeg files on your computer.
3. Open Cricut design space and create a new project.
4. Upload the owl images.
5. Save as simple images, then erase backgrounds.
6. Save as cut images (not print then cut).
7. Upload to Design Space, and save in two layers, Awake Owl and Asleep Owl.
8. To cut one layer, hide the other layer.
9. Load white cardstock on your cutting mat, then cut an owl.
10. Unhide the second owl, and hide the owl layer you already cut.
11. Cut the second owl.
12. Punch holes for hanging if desired. I always have a fat roll of white cotton bakers twine in my stash for projects like this.

 

 

Hand Cut Winter Owl

Materials:

• Exacto knife or similar hand held cutting blade.
• Self-healing cutting mat.
• White cardstock. Ours is this 110# paper.
• Hole punch and white string, if you want to hang your owls.

 

Directions:

1. Download the owl templates by filling in the form at the bottom of the page.
2. Print on white cardstock.
3. Place on self-healing cutting mat so you don’t damage your work surface.
4. Cut carefully along the lines with the Exacto knife.
5. Punch holes for hanging, and thread through with white string and tie to make a loop.
