When God Chose Their Future: Love’s True Story 3

When God chose their future good things happened.
They didn’t have to do anything except wait and listen.
And then Love’s True Story created another happily ever after!

 

 

Him

He thought he had his life together.

His heart lay secure in God’s hands; he was submitted to the life he thought God had for him.

His heart finally felt whole again after his marriage broke up. He dedicated his time today and in the future to living alone, doing what he could for the Lord. After all, marriage was for life, so if his was broken, God must mean for him to be alone.

So why did a certain name keep coming to his mind?

And, of all things, the name of a girl he had only heard about, and never met in person.

Oh, yes, what he heard impressed him. He could tell by the story their mutual friend told him that she was as committed to living for the Lord as he was. Her story inspired him to continue on in faith.

But,

this name kept interfering with what he thought God had in store for him.

He asked his pastor what this could mean.

His pastor thought it was  a signal from God that he should not ignore.

So how should he go about meeting this stranger who didn’t feel like a stranger? It all seemed so awkward.

He didn’t want to seem weird or some kind of stalker.

This needed prayer, and pray he did.

And then he followed the plan that came to him.

 

 

Her

She thought she had her life planned. A good job, a brand new beautiful house, her only sister living nearby.

Life was good.

So why did she suddenly feel so unsettled?

She begged God to take away her feelings of uncertainty; they surely stemmed from thanklessness.

Because she should feel so blessed and happy with all the things God had given her.

Rather than take away the feelings, they grew worse. She begged God on her knees many a time for peace in the path she thought was for her.

And then, during one of these sessions of prayer, God spoke. He said she would meet someone that weekend at a close friend’s wedding.

She was surprised and doubting. Really? Now? Why? How? What was God thinking, when He had just helped her find a good job and build a new home…

She attended the wedding. And didn’t see anyone who met the definition of future husband.

She went home and asked God to take any disturbing feelings away that did not belong in her life.

Then her phone rang.

 

 

Them, when God chose their future.

He was at the wedding alright. She had even met him, but she didn’t know he was alone.

That evening, when she got up from her prayer, and the phone rang, it was a friend inviting her to their house.

She arrived to find her friend, her husband, and him. The man she thought was married.

He had asked these mutual friends to facilitate their acquaintance. Because he wanted her to trust him.

 

 

That was the beginning for them, and so far there is no end.

They are now married and living their happily ever after.

 

God produces Love’s True Story every time we follow His direction, as He did for them.
