This Life that makes us who we are
is the only Life we have.

We are what the past has made us,
We are what the future will make us,
Live now. Right now.
Some famous people live a long and fulfilling life.
Then they’re busted.
For some reason, somewhere along their path, they lost their way.
And when the truth comes out, it’s as if it was all a waste.
All the good they did makes no difference,
because there is the one serious mistake that nulls it all.
This Life that makes us who we are
is the only life we have.
Thinking about catastrophic events that change the courses of lives
makes me ask the question,
“What made us choose the one we have?”
There are books that have influenced my life.
Books are important influencers,
although we have to choose to actually do what they propose
in order for them to make a difference.
And then there are answers to prayer that shaped our faith
and encouraged us to press onward and upward.
I’ve made mistakes that turned the tide for me,
and in turn, influenced our family today.
Our family has suffered setbacks that changed everything we thought we knew,
and set us onto a different course than we would have chosen.
However, through all of this,
God has His ways of comforting and making us stronger.
The little thoughts and songs and Words He reminds us of
to make the journey sweeter.
We’re not sharing these posts that tell you our story
because we feel very successful.
But because your stories, your journeys,
are the reason to continue on,
because
this is the Life that makes all of us who we are.
I don’t know your things. You know some of our things.
So, together,
let’s use the things we have now
and will have in the future,
to live now, right now,
the best we know how.
