The Great Exodus Lesson 10: Finishing Strong
The Great Exodus Lesson 10: Finishing Strong
Moses sends 12 spies to check out the Promised Land, but only 2 believe God can help them win the land from the giants who live there.
God’s People finally stand at the borders of the Promised Land.
They escaped the fearsome Pharaoh; they escaped slavery.
God parted the waters of the Red Sea for the people to cross, and then drowned Pharaoh’s army.
God gave them a pillar of cloud to guide them through the desert by day, and a pillar of fire to guide them at night to show them He would always be with them.
But a desert is dry and dusty, and the people got hot and thirsty and couldn’t find food. They grumbled angrily and God told Moses He planned to feed His People and provide water in miraculous ways.
Then a fierce enemy attacks and God tells Moses to hold up the Rod of God during the battle. Two men help him hold up the rod all the long day, and the battle is won!
Miriam, the sister who watched her baby brother, Moses, on the Nile, becomes jealous of Moses. God punishes her disrespect by striking her leprosy and sending her out of the camp.
In Lesson 10, God tells Moses to send 12 men into Canaan to check out the land. The spies return with luscious fruits and reports of rich land. But ten of them are afraid they can’t conquer the giants they encountered. Only two spies trust God can help them win, just as He promised when He led them from Egypt, and all along their journey so far.
