Ruffled Diaper Cover DIY:
Baby Sewing Tutorial
For when your baby girl has an adorable dress
without a matching diaper cover.
Or you have her dressed in a onesie and leggings or tights,
and she needs RuffleButts but you don’t have any.
No worries.
This easy sewing DIY can be whipped up in a few minutes. (Well, it took me 90 minutes for the first one.)
Ruffled Diaper Cover DIY
What You Need:
- 1 yard knit fabric of your choice (such as this)
- 1 yard 1/4″ elastic
- our downloadable diaper cover pattern you can download with the form below.
- thread (matching and contrast), scissors, measuring tape, tan painters tape or small price stickers, pen
How to Cut It:
1/ Download the Ruffled Diaper Cover pattern and cut it out.
Fill in the Email Sign Up form at the bottom of the page to get the link for the pattern.
Cut it out along the solid lines.
2/ Place the pattern on the fabric.
Lay the fabric on your cutting table as shown in the diagram.
The fabric should be folded at center, with selvedge edges meeting perfectly.
As you cut the pattern pieces, tape the pattern piece number on each cut of fabric to keep track as you sew.
Congratulations!
You have cut your diaper cover out and are ready to sew!

I don’t see the link for the sewing pattern in the post, or your shop. Where can I get it?
Thanks for asking. I’m sorry the link was missing for you. You can get the download by subscribing to our Email GIFT List. The pattern is free until we remove the sign-up, then it will be available in our Baby Shop.
