Honey Bee Baby Nursery: Paint, Wall and Décor Ideas
Are you planning a honey bee themed nursery?
Here’s the buzz on wall color options:
do you want to paint, wallpaper or use decals?
Plus sweet décor ideas.
While good old-fashioned honeybees slowly fade away into extinction,
(and the more aggressive Africanized honeybees take over the land),
honeybee décor is gaining in popularity.
Bees are cute to use all over the house, but we think a Honey Bee Baby Nursery is the bees knees.

Wall Ideas for a Honey Bee Nursery
There are so many great choices for the walls in your baby nursery.
You can paint all one color and add color with the decorations.
For your honeybee theme, honeycomb hexagons painted on a whole wall, or just parts of a wall, would be so cute.
In one of the pictures on the mood board they have hexagon shelves that exactly match the hexagons painted on the wall. Absolutely genius.
Clockwise from top left:
- Hexagon painted wall
- Metallic wall paper with bee design
- Hexagon painted wall with floating hexagon shelves
- Honeycomb painted wall in grays
- Hexagon metallic wall decals
- Floor rug with honeycomb design (similar, in grays)

Honey Bee Facts
My husband has a landscape maintenance business, and he said he never used to have to fear the bees, even working near a hive.
Today that has changed, as the Africanized bees populate the continent more and more. (Some beekeepers actually prefer the killer bees for their hives, as they produce more honey!)
Also, the water lilies on our koi pond are loaded with bees most of the time, and the g’littles are scared to be near the water because of them.
We discovered that placing vinegar in containers on the patio or porches will keep the bees away. There’s something about the acid that causes problems with their exoskeleton, and if exposed to it they die. Spray vinegar water on hives that invade your comfort zone and the bees will stay away.
So if your littles are afraid when they see bees, know that there are natural ways to repel them. Just rubbing some diluted dish soap on your child’s exposed skin helps. Have a spray bottle of diluted dish soap and water and spritz the bees that dare to come around. They can’t handle vinegar or dish soap. And it doesn’t take much to keep them away!
Although we’ll never have bees as pets, we can love them from afar.
So have fun using them for honey-sweet décor inspiration!
