Fall Themed Baby Shower Ideas to Welcome a Little Pumpkin
A few Fall Themed Baby Shower ideas showed up on the blog
to plan a Welcome Party for a new little pumpkin.
Then Mr. Rusty the squirrel added his cheek to the chatter.
Fall Themed Baby Shower
Someone’s expecting a little pumpkin this fall, and a baby shower will be on the calendar.
We’ve picked some juicy fruit from the internet vine that you can squeeze to stir up your creative juices if you’ll be one of the planners.
When we think of fall we think of earth tones colors, bright autumn leaves and natural textures like branches and straw bales.
And busy squirrels chattering as they hurry to fill up their storehouses.
That’s why this woodland critter found his way onto the invitation!
Falling in Love with Baby Shower Invitation
We pulled together a few watercolor elements from previous designs to bring together our “Falling in Love with Baby” Shower Invitation.
Mr. Squirrel is quickly taking a break to enjoy one acorn before he scampers off to his winter hideaway with full cheeks.

Rusty wanted to stick around, so we added him to the Shower Planner Printable, too.
He knew you shower hostesses would need his mad squirrelly organization skills for this event, so he thought he’d help you out.
Baby Shower Game Ideas
Well, look at that.
We can’t get rid of Rusty that easily.
I’m not sure how he thinks he fits on our signature Bible Mothers Baby Shower Game,
but I guess God created squirrel mommies and babies, too.
Fall Menu Ideas
Whew. At least Rusty doesn’t think you have to serve nuts at the baby shower.
Quick. While he’s off filling his cheeks, let’s talk about other fall stuff.
Like apples and harvests and golden straw bales.
Bringing these to a fall baby shower adds natural theme material without extra design work. Use literal twigs, washed well and dried, as apple sticks, instantly multiplying the nature theme.
How does a lady eat a whole caramel apple at a baby shower? Our solution: Use the whole apples as part of the presentation, then serve apples sliced, with caramel in little dipping bowls. Voila. No mouths stuck shut with caramel.
This cake continues the fall outdoor nature theme.
Doing a barely-there frosted cake where the layers show through could give the same “woodsy” look as this carefully applied frosting.
Fall Baby Shower Decor Ideas
I love this simple backdrop idea for a fall theme. Hang crepe paper, coffee filter, or watercolor paper fall colored leaves from a branch with fishing line or invisible button thread. This would dress up the wall behind the food or gift table.
If you don’t have time to make the leaves, type “buy paper fall leaves” into your search engine. Both Hobby Lobby and Oriental Trading have product that could work. Or cut silk leaves off a fall garland.
This handmade garland would look awesome as individual leaves also, if you have a more pastel/white color scheme. The DIY for these leaves is at this website.
Stack white and painted pumpkins in the space here and there, both large and mini pumpkins.
If you use a large synthetic white pumpkin, you could have guests sign their names and add some “baby” advice, as a shower keepsake.
On a more practical level, use some of the above white/light leaves and ask each guest to write a message to the new family on a leaf, signed with their name, as a shower guest book.
Invite Mr. Rusty to your planning session.
Then tell us what you come up with for a fall baby shower.
Until next time,
Love, Kim & Dorothy
