Well, we say the recipes are for parties,
but, the truth is, we like a batch of brew in our fridge all the time for everyday sipping.
Because,
confession time,
we love iced coffee. Really, really love iced coffee.
However, you’d hardly believe I can brew a decent batch of iced coffee if you knew about my first attempt at brewing.
When my husband and I were newlyweds we proudly entertained new friends for “coffee.”
Imagine their faces when they sipped their mugs of hot brew…
only to taste…
wait for it…
TEA!!
This ignorant new bride dipped into loose tea leaves and thought she was making coffee.
I know. Blushing. I’m still embarrassed about it all these years later.

Best Cold Brew Coffee Making Tips
Which actually doesn’t involve brewing at all. Steeping the coffee at room temperature for up to 12 hours produces a rich, smooth concentrate that is much less acidic than coffee brewed with hot water. Plus, it is two to three times stronger.
This concentrate can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks and can be used to make many iced coffee drinks, hot coffee, or in cooking.
Supplies
- Glass gallon jugs or pitchers
- Stainless steel strainer
- Cheesecloth
- Good quality burr coffee grinder
- Room temperature drinking water
- Fresh dark roasted coffee beans
- Measuring cup
- Long handled stir spoon
Directions
- Grind the coffee beans medium coarse.
- Measure 3 cups coffee into a glass gallon jar.
- Add 14 cups water.
- Stir the mixture so there are no lumps. Put a lid on the jar.
- Place on countertop at room temperature for up to 12 hours.
- Place cheesecloth in the steel strainer, and place on top of pitcher or second gallon jar.
- Pour the steeped coffee over the cheesecloth.

Remember, we’ve sized these for groups, so be aware you’re brewing for 10 to 12 people when you make one of these recipes!
Basic Cold Brew Iced Coffee Recipe
- 12 cups strained cold brew coffee
- 1.5 cups granulated sugar or equivalent sweetener
- 2 to 2.5 c. half and half
Warm a small amount of cold brew coffee with the sugar to fully dissolve the crystals.
Pour altogether in storage pitcher or jar and chill until party time.
Serve over crushed ice.
Vanilla Bean Cold Brew Coffee Recipe
- 12 cups strained cold brew coffee
- 1.5 cups vanilla bean syrup
- 2 to 2.5 c. half and half
Vanilla Bean Syrup:

- 1 c. water
- 1 1/4 c. granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 whole vanilla bean, split
Bring all the ingredients to a boil in a saucepan. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Mix the coffee and vanilla bean syrup, then fill the jar with half and half. Chill and pour over ice cubes.
Mocha Cold Brew Iced Coffee Drink
- 12 cups strained cold brew coffee
- chocolate syrup recipe
- 2 to 2.5 c. half and half
Chocolate Mocha Syrup:

- 1/4 c. chocolate powder (more if you like dark chocolate)
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/8 tsp. vanilla extract
- a pinch of salt to taste

- Place chocolate powder, sugar and milk in a saucepan.
- Stir over very low heat until sugar is dissolved.
- Bring to boil and cook for 3 minutes, stirring.
- Remove from heat and add vanilla and salt.
- Add to coffee and chill.

Mix the mocha coffee and half and half. Pour over ice cubes.
Caramel Iced Frappe
- 12 cups strained cold brew coffee
- caramel syrup recipe
- 2 to 2.5 c. half and half
Caramel Syrup:

- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup water, divided
- 1 tsp. corn syrup
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- a pinch of salt to taste

- Mix sugar, corn syrup and 1/4 cup water in a saucepan.
- Stir over very low heat until sugar is dissolved.
- Bring to boil and cook for 3 minutes, stirring.
- Remove from heat and add the rest of the water. Be careful, as the cold water might spatter as you pour it into the hot syrup.
- Add the vanilla and salt.
- Add to coffee and chill.

Mix the caramel coffee and half and half. Pour over ice cubes to stir.
Turtle Iced Coffee Frappes
These are best if you make individual servings for each guest.
Or try a coffee bar, where they add their own toppings to the basic iced coffee/half and half mix.
- 12 cups strained cold brew coffee
- 2 to 2.5 c. half and half
Chill this mixture.
At party time, top each cup with whipped cream, a drizzle of chocolate syrup, then caramel syrup, then top with a sprinkle of chopped pecans.
Or set out these ingredients for guests to make their own.
Pumpkin Cream Iced Coffee Drink: Best Ever for a Fall Bridal Shower
These are best if you make individual servings for each guest.
Or try a coffee bar, where they add their own toppings to the basic sweetened iced coffee/half and half mix.
- 12 cups strained cold brew coffee
- 3/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 to 2.5 c. half and half
Chill this mixture.
Pumpkin Cream:

- 2 cup heavy whipped cream
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- Whip the cream until foamy.
- Add the pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice and vanilla.
- Whip until the consistency you like, foamy or full on whipped cream.

At party time, top each cup of iced coffee with a dollop or layer of pumpkin cream. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Or set out these ingredients for guests to make their own.
Hazelnut Mocha Iced Coffee Frappe
- 12 cups strained cold brew coffee
- 12 oz Nutella
- 2 to 2.5 c. half and half
Warm a little of the cold brew and Nutella until they’re dissolved together. Slowly add the rest of the cold brew until it’s all well incorporated. Add the half and half and chill until serving time.
Provide whipped cream and chocolate syrup to top individual drinks, if desired.
