17 Distinctive Wedding Table Number Ideas
17 Distinctive Wedding Table Number Ideas
to buy ready made, or make yourself
as simply or as detailed as you wish.
Picking a table number idea to match your wedding décor can be as simple or as complicated as you wish.
You can buy the numbers from your stationery printer, ready-made to match your invitations.
Or you can make them from scratch with imaginative elements,
such as hand-dipped vases with the numbers painted on.

17 Table Number Ideas for a Distinctive Wedding
Minimalist
We love the design of these cards, but probably wouldn’t use the gold frames, or the glass.
Wouldn’t the designs look awesome on handmade paper, or deckle edge paper, and propped in a simple stand rather than these gilt frames?
Wooden Wedding Table Number Stands
Wood pieces are easy to come by for most people.
These look like they could be made from 1″ x 2″ boards, cut into 4″ lengths.
They’d be free-standing on the table, so you wouldn’t have to worry about holders.
Probably the most economical way to get a unique look. Maybe you have a woodworker friend who no doubt would have wood scraps like this in his trash stash. If not, your local Home Depot or Lowes might have some in the trash they’d let you take home. The next option is to buy a piece, which might cost you $5.00 to $10.00, depending on the type of wood you buy.
Then all you’d need is a white paint marker or round script brush and craft paint, and a pattern. You could use this method for transferring the pattern to the wood.
Live Edge Wood DIY Table Numbers
We don’t particularly care for the bottom choice of wood cuts, but they’d work.
We mainly show them to give you an approximation of what someone could do for you using live edge wood instead. You’d end up with a piece with the live edge where the bark shows on the lower picture. Then you can use it as a stand and tack or glue your cards to the back.
Or if they’re large enough, use the above technique, of painting the numbers on the wood.
I know someone who can make these for you. Just contact us here and we’ll give you the details.
Simple Tent Folded Cards
Another economical way to DIY table numbers. Your stationers could make them, or use the lower example, and create a design you cut on your Cricut.
Decorative edge scissors, or edge punches would be another option.
Our love for minimalism would suggest a torn edge on simple white watercolor paper. 140# would be plenty strong for a tent fold, and give a beautiful handmade look.
You can print the numbers yourself on thick card if you have a rear feed photo printer.
Hand Painted Numbers
Love the simplicity of these.
They’d be fast and easily done with watercolor paints.
Vinyl Sticker Transfers
If you have a Cricut or other cutting machine this would be an easy afternoon’s project.
You can get clear acrylic here in 5″ x 7″ pieces. Attach the cut vinyl to the back (remember to reverse cut the numbers so the sticky side can adhere to the back, then be the right direction looking from the front.) Then, if you wish, swoosh some paint on the backs to make the numbers more readable.
Use white or black vinyl for simplicity, or gold foil for extra special elegance.
Two Simple Wedding Table Number Ideas
that aren’t related at all, but ended up on the same picture. Sorry.
The top one is from Webstaurant Store, which sells a variety of stands quite reasonably that restaurants might use for menu cards. We love this dark metal with its simple design.
This lower picture is a wooden variety of a style we’ll talk about next…
Hand Dipped Vases
to which you could add hand painted or cut vinyl numbers.
The tutorial for the vases is here.
This lower design works all on its own, with just the numbers added to the bottle,
or you could dip dye the vase and then add numbers.
This bunson burner vase is from Magnolia Market.
Bud Vases with Hanging Tag Numbers or Wire Card Holders
These are sweet additions for your rustic, country style wedding tables.
The lower bud vase can be found here.
Another Acrylic/Cut Vinyl Idea
These designs can be as simple or as ornate as you wish. You can back paint them, or leave them clear.
We did want you to notice their simple stands. You can buy these on Etsy, but if you know a woodworker man, he can whip these up in a half hour, probably. And with scraps of wood he already has in his trash bin.
We live near several retirement cities here, so if I didn’t have my own wood pile and saw, I’d go to the rec center and find the wood worker’s play center. There are many kind gentlemen there who could easily make these stands in exchange for a gift card or maybe even a lovely smile.
