We collected 10 Children’s Lighthouse Crafts you can make this summer, with items you probably have around the house.
Have you visited a lighthouse?
Summer is a great time to explore a lighthouse,
and if you drive along a coast on your summer vacation,
you’ll most likely see at least one.
Many of them are open to visitors,
and you can go inside and climb all the steps up to the top to see the beacon.
What is a Lighthouse?
A lighthouse is a tall tower near the shores of a large lake or an ocean.
They can be built with different materials, like brick, stone or wood.
At the very top is a bright light called a beacon.
The beacon guides ships safely into ports in the dark or the fog.
Lighthouses have one purpose: to warn ships of danger and guide them away from dangerous waters.
